We had such a fab response to our Gayest Album Covers Ever post last week! Special thanks and an inappropriate squeeze goes to Joe. My. God. for picking it up and sparking a comment frenzy on his site. Thanks everyone who suggested covers that we missed and for pointing out the Village People cover was a fake!

The world of album covers is truly gayer than we thought! So much so that we decided to put together a whole gallery of 88 covers that we think are the gayest album covers of all time! By now you have all seen Adam Lambert’s cover art which many people are calling the “gayest album cover ever” (we would say those people are stealing our shtick but I’m pretty sure we stole it first…so let’s just move on) BUT have you seen this fierceness?:

The Gayest Ever Research Team (very prestigious) hunted down some fabulous album covers that give Adam Lambert a run for his gay money. Some you’ve probably seen before (there are other “lists” on the web that have the same 7 covers) but we may have unearthed a few surprises. Which one do you think is the Gayest Album Cover Ever!?!

From the description of the first piece entitled “THE CHER WITHIN:”

My painting “The Cher Within” depicts the magical moment when a drag performer prepares to cross the line between ambiguous guy in his underwear to full-on diva extraordinaire, in this case fashioned after his ultimate heroine, Cher. The painting also represents the diva in everyone, those who have actually taken their sequinned acts to the stage and those who may have offered more intimate performances behind bathroom doors, with towels for wigs and hairbrush microphones.
